Project: Love Letters 31

Love is a verb. A muddy verb. A verb that requires hard work and selfless attention. It requires patience, pursuit, empathy, and understanding. It does not reach down to pull someone up, but bends itself at the knee, humbles itself to the one who needs it, and meets them where they are at. We all need love, and we should always strive to give it.

In our fast-paced, technology-obsessed society, we’ve become less in tune with the simple gestures that people around us need. A Facebook ‘like’ pales in comparison to a handwritten letter expressing words that feed a person’s heart.

Kindness, joy, gratitude, humor, and encouragement are healing to all of us. Vitamins to our soul. Words are powerful and bring a happy energy that lightens and brightens the heaviness that each of us carry throughout our days.

The stranger next to you needs more love, and you can give it.
